Grange inspirante à Saint-Paulin en Mauricie

Our history

Located on the Route des Rivières tourist circuit in Saint-Paulin, Mauricie, La Ferme du Loup was created in 2005 by taking over the maple grove originally owned by the Boucher family, some 100 years ago. Having never tapped maple trees before, Patrice relished the dream of exploring the possibilities offered by maple syrup. A wine lover, a first experience in maple sap vinification opened new perspectives for the project. For many years, part of the harvest was used to produce Sével Doux for personal consumption. The artisanal maple wine production permit was obtained in 2020, some fifteen years later.

Inspired by the reinterpretation of Nordic cuisine and the promotion of non-timber forest products, La ferme du loup, with Clara at the helm, has set itself the mission of showcasing Quebec's terroir to offer its customers a culinary experience that goes beyond the traditional use of maple syrup.

Our philosophy

Territory, creativity, integrity, and shared pleasures are among the values of La ferme du loup. You will appreciate the artisanal quality of our products and the personal touch we bring by using wild fruits and flowers to add unique flavors. We pride ourselves on not using unnecessary artificial products. Our goal is to make every meal a pleasant experience for you. We want to offer you new options for the pleasures of the table by using our flagship product, maple, to offer you a unique taste experience in its own right. It is with pride that we share this passion with you. We hope you enjoy every sip and bite as much as we love producing them!

Awards and distinctions

The Great Sap Competition

During our past participations in the La Grande Sève competition, rewarding the most exceptional and superior quality maple syrups, La Ferme du Loup syrups have won ten medals.

2017-2018 - Silver Medal
2019 - Bronze Medal
2021 - Gold Medal
2023 - Bronze Medal, Northern St. Lawrence Syrups

Since 2023, only one medal has been awarded per region. The maple-growing region to which La ferme du loup belongs covers the regions of the north shore of the St. Lawrence (Lanaudière, Laval, Montreal, National Capital, Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Laurentians, Outaouais, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Mauricie). La ferme du loup syrup is therefore the only recipient of a medal in 2023 for the Mauricie region. Annual participation in this Quebec competition illustrates our great concern for quality. The quality of the basic product, maple syrup, has a major impact on the quality of the subsequently processed products, infused syrups and maple wines.
